The safety critical and/or high availability applications are more and more frequently based on fault tolerant systems, or on systems that are able to continue to operate correctly even in the presence of failure of one or more components. This feature is obtained by means of special hardware architectures (for example, redundant architectures), or by the system ability to diagnose the fault and to react by implementing, in an automatic way, corrective and/or alternative measures.
If the application is based on a electronic programmable platform software also must possess the feature of tolerance to failure.
As regards the hardware HINTSW - T & T Systems is able to identify the useful fault tolerant hardware systems, for a large range of applications and industries. The hardware structures proposed, with regard to the functional safety and reliability (fault tolerance is one of the reliability components), are always compliant with the requirements of industry standards, in detail , those most frequently used are the main international itandards dedicated to the matters mentioned above: IEC 61508; IEC 61511; IEC 60730; EN 50129; EN 62061.
