New EU rules to strengthen toy safety |

 There will be no more places for defective and dangerous toys in the EU market. As from today, the new EU regulation for toys (Directive 2009/48/EC of 18 June 2009 on the safety of toys) is in force to fulfill the highest safety requirements worldwide.
As the new Toys Directive became effective, all actors involved in the production, selling and control of toys on the EU market will get more responsibilities to better protect our children.
Safety for our children is our first priority. We have the best legislation on toys in the world with the highest safety requirements. However, it is not sufficient to strengthen the rules. We also need Member States to ensure enhanced market surveillance deterring fraudulent market operators.

 Lo scorso mese di marzo 2011 ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) e CEN (Comité Européen de Normalisation) hanno organizzato un Workshop congiunto con il seguente argomento: "Interoperability of the European Air Traffic Management Network: The role of Community Specifications".
Lo ETSI Technical Committee Aeronautics (TC AERO) ed il CEN Project Committee Air Traffic Management (TC 377) sono stati fondati per sviluppare le Specifiche Comunitarie all'interno delle Single European Sky (SES) Interoperability Regulation (EC 552/2004 e successive modifiche).

 E’ stata pubblicata dalla IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) la nuova edizione di uno degli standard più importanti e di maggiore impatto applicativo in ambito industriale: si tratta della serie di norme IEC 61508 dedicate alla sicurezza funzionale.
La nuova edizione della norma succede alla prima edizione pubblicata nel 1998; la norma è citata all’interno di Direttive Europee ed è testo di riferimento generale sulla sicurezza funzionale per molti settori tecnologici che a loro volta hanno sviluppato norme applicative specifiche per il proprio settore, tra cui: per il controllo di processo (serie 61511), le macchine (serie 62061), gli azionamenti (61800-5-2), l’EMC (61326-3-X), le comunicazioni (61784-3), il ferroviario (serie 50126/8/9), il nucleare (serie 61513), ecc.
Nei prossimi mesi tutti questi comitati IEC, oltre a quelli ISO, CEN e CENELEC che fanno riferimento alla sicurezza funzionale, saranno impegnati nel valutare il recepimento degli aggiornamenti e dovranno decidere l’eventuale revisione dei propri documenti normativi. L’ACOS (Advisory Committee On Safety della IEC) ha stimato che tale attività coinvolgerà oltre 170 documenti già pubblicati.
