T&T Systems - HINTSW

T&T Systems is a consulting company rich in competences and experiences. Thanks to its "HINTSW" division, it supplies support to the development of safety-critical implementations.

The offer of HINTSW division covers a large range of sectors: from nuclear to oil & gas, from medical to public transports, from utilities to primary services and includes both complex automation systems and single equipments.

The competences acquired on the field allow us to take part to all phases of the Life Cycle of a system, from its conceiving to its dismantling, covering both software and hardware aspects. We are particularly specialized in software functional safety and in its integration with hardware, but we are also able, for example, to calculate the availability of a ESD system of a oil & gas plant, or the probability of failure of a control loop in a complex automation system.

Our competences also include the standards relative to the functional safety of electronic systems; in fact we have gained specific experiences relative to the international general standards: IEC 61508 and UL 1998, and to the international standards of different sectors: IEC 61511 (process industry); CENELEC EN 50126, 50128, 50129 (railway implementations); IEC 60601 (electromedical equipments); etc.

In these fields we are able to supply the customer with any support necessary to obtain a national or international certification.

OUR PROPOSAL:

HINTSW offers an integrated package of services ranging from the basic knowledge of functional safety to the consultancy oriented to certification.

Safety Certification:

We support the customer along all phases of the project leading its planning and its realization in accordance with the standards; we manage the role of Verifier and/or Validator between the customer and the Certification Board; we help the customer with the selection of the most adequate methodologies and development techniques and we lead him to a correct use of such techniques; we plan and develop the required documentation.

Life Cycle:

Together with the customer we plan the safety system Life Cycle according to the relevant standards; in case some safety software has to be implemented, we can plan the software Life Cycle necessary for the development and the validation in order to satisfy the safety integrity level assigned to the system; we develop - either fully or partially - the activities planned for both the Life Cycles or we support the customer with the necessary know-how.

Basic Knowledge:

As regards basic knowledge in the field of functional safety we organize training courses, coaching and consultancies for the learning, application and use of the methodologies and techniques required by the international standards; we help the customer to understand and use tools, software developing and testing environments such as IDE, CASE, compilers, validation suites, etc.
