The Lyon-Turin new railway link – The Commission reiterates its full support for the project.
Following the beginning of the works at the Maddalena exploratory tunnel and the meeting of the French–Italian intergovernmental conference in Rome on 6 July, the Commission remains committed to support France and Italy in the completion of the Lyon–Turin railway axis. This key missing link of the trans-European transport network will connect not only two major European cities and regions but complete a major European east–west transport corridor linking the Iberian peninsula to central Europe and contributing to Europe's economic growth.

La Commissione Europea ha recentemente lanciato tre "call for proposal" all'interno del programma pluriennale del Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), mettendo a disposizione 180 milioni di Euro per finanziare progetti di infrastrutture europee nei campi della gestione del traffico ferroviario europeo - European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) -, delle vie di navigazione marittima - Motorways of the Sea (MOS) - e dei servizi di informazione fluviale - River Information Services (RIS).
Questo dovrebbe aiutare a rendere il trasporto ferroviario e nautico più sicuro e maggiormente competitivo rispetto ad altri tipi di trasporto. |

Managing risks is central to all health-care activities, not just for patients, but also for medical staff and the community in general.
The IEC has been directly involved in developing standards for EMDs (Electric Medical Devices) for decades. In October 2010 it published IEC 80001-1, Application of risk management for IT-networks incorporating medical devices – Part 1: Roles, responsibilities and activities, further extending the scope of risk management in health care.
